Vendicari

This is the Europe’s southernmost marshland, Vendicari is a protected reserve full of birds, flamingos and wild life. Is located between Noto and Marzamemi, it has 13 km of sandy and rocky coast with various paths; from the north, the beaches of the reserve are 5:
- Eloro, with by crystal clear water and fine sand.
- Marianelli, an isolated, wild and uncontaminated beach.
- Calamosche, a beautiful sandy beach with a quite sea.
- Vendicari, the central part of the reserve, whose coastline is dominated by the old Tonnara (tuna’s factory), the Swabian Tower and the salt pans.
- San Lorenzo and Citadel of the Maccari, with its turquoise sea and the white sand, some Byzantine catacombs (one is underground) and the Trigona, a Byzantine structure with a square plan and three apses.

What you need:
- Sports footwear and high socks
- Swimsuits and towels
- Sunscreen and sun hat
- Snacks and water
- Water shoes/sandals: this could be essential if you don’t like to walk on rocks while you enter one of the natural pools. If you don’t mind rocky beaches/rivers, you don’t need them.
The experience is flexible, can be tailored to suit your needs, including the extras.
